GridLock Solar Security is a privately funded corporation based in the heart of Sonoma County wine country in Santa Rosa, CA. 

As a result of increasing thefts in the solar industry, Tim Holmes, the owner of Kenwood Energy, joined forces with Jon Morris, the owner of Machine Design Solutions.  Together, the two companies were able to utilize their industry experience in Solar Power and Product Design to develop an “off the shelf” solution to solar panel theft.  The company now offers many variations of product.

Kenwood Energy is an energy management consulting company that has assisted small governments and private industry with the implementation of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects since 2000. 

Machine Design Solutions is an original equipment company that specializes in design and development of specialized equipment, machinery and instrumentation.

Tim Holmes, P.E.
President, Mr. Holmes is a Professional Engineer that received his formal education as a Mechanical Engineer with a focus on alternative energy systems and energy management.  He has more than twenty years experience building upon that education through the development and implementation of energy management programs and projects.  His expertise is in energy efficiency, Photovoltaic Systems, greenhouse gas management, and project development and implementation.  Mr. Holmes has worked with virtually every energy industry customer segment including utilities, state government, county government, city government, Real Estate Investment Trusts, schools, hospitals, wineries, hotels, industrial complexes, and agricultural facilities.  He has “hands on” experience completing hundreds of energy audits, developing and installing dozens of PV systems, and developing and implementing numerous of utility programs. 

Jonathan Morris
Vice President Operations, Mr. Morris received his formal education from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in Electrical Engineering.  He has nearly twenty years of experience working in electrical power management and systems design.  Mr. Morris has worked in a variety of engineering and management positions for large industrial organizations such as, US DOD, PG&E, Parker Hannifin and Medtronic.  Mr. Morris started Machine Design Solutions in Santa Rosa, CA, in 2000.  He has been responsible for developing unique solutions to highly technical automation and instrumentation challenges for scores of high tech industrial companies. 

Tyson R. Berg
Business Development Manager.  Mr. Berg is a business executive with a formal education from San Diego State University’s School of Business. He has nearly 15 years of experience working in commercial and residential electrical construction, construction management, and Business Development.  Mr. Berg has also completed the highly renowned Gallo Sales training program and served as a Sales Representative for Gallo Sales Company in San Diego and Los Angeles.  Mr. Berg is currently working on his Masters in Business Administration.

Marc Feyh
Field Service Manager.  Mr. Feyh  received his Mechanical Engineering degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He has over 12 years of experience designing, installing, and supporting electronic systems in the Industrial Automation industry. Mr. Feyh has held multiple factory- and field-based technical positions in Applications, Field Support, Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering for Parker Electromechanical, Parker Compumotor, Automation Solutions and Machine Design Solutions. He has completed various Photovoltaic’s and Energy Efficiency courses with Boots on the Roof, Solar Living Institute and PG&E.
